This was day two in Rome where we started the morning bright and early at the Colisuem and then proceed on to St. Peter’s Square where we saw the Pope give a service. That was something special……here we go…..

Imagine, graffiti at the Coliseum. Makes for an interesting shot.

People were standing on the chairs that were set out in St. Peter’s Square waiting for the arrival of the Pope. He sometimes comes out on Wednesday mornings and we happened to be there at the right time.
Here’s the Pope in the ‘Popemobile”!
And an even better shot….

Inside the Vatican Museum. This is a museum that’s filled with many centuries of amazing things, but Ethan’s attention was drifting. He wanted to see it quickly and get out to have lunch. He was walking very fast!

Yes, this is what you think it is and it was magnificent.
The view from somewhere in the middle of the Spanish Steps looking down.

Some views of the city from the top of the Spanish Steps.
What a surprise to find out that Norman’s cousin, Tina, and her family would be in Rome at the same time we were there! We met them on our second day in Rome in the late afternoon and had a fun dinner. We also had time to take a few pix. Here they are with Ethan and Norman.
And now the four of them….
Stop back tomorrow for our trip to Siena.
