Florence

Thanks for stopping in to look at my Italy pix! This is the last day: Firenze!  I’ve always wanted to go to Florence and the day we were there was the day before Easter.  The crowds were out in full force and it was a chilly day.  Ethan had had it with museums, so I feel a little ashamed to admit that we didn’t go into any museums in Florence (and isn’t that a lot of what Florence is about…the art?)  We didn’t see David, but you’ll see below that Florence had lots of other cool statuary.  Anyway, Florence is a lovely city and I got some great landscape shots:

The Arno RiverThis is taken at a vista point above the city….looking down on the city…
The famous ponte vecchio (click here for more info on it):

Ethan took this shot! And this one.  He took quite a liking to my camera on the trip:)

Near the Doumo  we saw this person signing autographs, so I took a picture of her.  I don’t know who she is, but she seemed awfully happy!  I’m going to assume she was famous….The Duomo, Piazza del Duomo

A couple more landscapes!

This was on the way from Roma Termini (the train station in Rome) to our hotel.  We looked for it every night and it was comforting to see it, in a weird way.  So, the last shot of the trip is what we looked for when arriving back in Rome from Florence.
Thanks for stopping in to see my photos.
