Cousins

Ethan and his younger cousin got along so well, during our last visit to Richmond, and the even allowed me to take this series of shots…which I love!

Richmond and a Contax 645

Today is my sister Lori’s Birthday.  She lives in Richmond and is a few years younger than I am.   I went down to Richmond to visit my mom and my sister and her family a few weeks ago and I took my Contax 645.  This is a medium format camera that I needed help from the local photo store on how to load the film.   When I showed the guy what I had done he remarked : “Classic mistake that students make when loading medium format film for the first time.”   He walked me through it and now I get it.

I took these shots in my mom’s backyard with the exception of the last two shots.  The thing with film is…when you get it back from the lab, all you have to do is pop the CD into your computer, upload the  images, and voila!  you’re done! The image quality from this camera amazes me.  When I saw the images, I swear I nearly cried.

Manhole Cover

I love manhole covers or anything designating a utility on the ground. Here’s my last shot from my Phoenix trip….a manhole cover.

Rental Car Center

I saw this in Phoenix at the rental car return building…and I loved it. I was taking this shot while the bus was leaving and I had to RUN to catch the bus!  Happy Monday.  Yesterday the weather, in here the Philadelphia area, was cooler and rainy, but today it looks like  it’s going right back up to the hot humid 90’s.

Cactus 2

I have to admit that these cactus, the ones with purple on them, were my favorite…until I touched one.  They have these fine ‘hairs’ on them that got stuck in my finger and were quite painful. Live and learn!
